Current Events

Our group participated in the Topical Conference on Atomic and Molecular Physics (TC2008) which was held during january 3-5, 2008 in the Department of Physics, Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat.
Prof. Manson visited our group (January 5^th to 18^th, 2008) under India-USA (DST-NSF) collaborative research program.
Prof. Vojislav Radojevic joined our group on 14th Jan. 2008 as a visiting professor and he will be continuing till mid-April 2008.
Sunil Kumar attended the DAMOP-2008 Meeting which has taken place during May 27-31, 2008 at Penn State's University Park campus in State College, Pennsylvania. In the meeting, Sunil Kumar presented a poster on SOIAIC effect in dipole and quadupole photoionization parameters.
Dr. Umesh Kadhane joined our group as assistant professor in the Department of Physics.
In House Symposium 2009
Our group participated in the DAE-BRNS Symposium on Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics which was conducted during February 10-13, 2009 in the Inter University Accelerator Centre (IUAC) New Delhi.
Dr. Umesh Kadhane received the Dr. S. N. Ghosh young scientist award at the DAE-BRNS Symposium on Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics which was conducted during February 10-13, 2009 in the Inter University Accelerator Centre (IUAC) New Delhi.
Dr. Tanima Banerjee received the Best thesis award in the field of atomic physics at DAE-BRNS Symposium on Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics which was conducted during February 10-13, 2009 in the Inter University Accelerator Centre (IUAC) New Delhi.
Active collaboration with ISRO has been started and as a part of collaborative research, Alak Banik joined our group as a graduate student.
Prof. Vojislav Radojevic visited our group during 4th Jan. 2009 and 3rd April 2009.
Prof. Steve Manson visited our group during 8th Jan. 2009 and 20th Jan. 2009.
Prof. P. C. Deshmukh completed 3 years term as Head of the Department of Physics.
Prof. P. C. Deshmukh is vising Georgia State University as a part of collaborative program during 24th May 2009 and 30th July 2009.
Dr. Umesh Kadhane visited Department of Physics and astronomy, Aarhus University as a part of collaborative reseach program during June 1-30 2009.
Gagan Bihari Pradhan and Jobin Jose will be presenting posters in the ICPEAC 2009 which will be held during 22-28th July 2009 at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo.
